I signed up for the Myrtle Beach Mini 2016 shortly after finishing the race in 2015. I had barely missed a PR without even trying. My goal there was to stick to my intervals. I proved to myself that the intervals I was using were the right ones. I was excited to try it again.
Fast forward a year… I signed up for the 2016 Run For Your Life 6-pack. I had finished a half the weekend before. I felt like my life had been super hectic with different activities. I had put off making any travel arrangements for the race. After finishing Rocktoberfest, I knew I needed a break. I decided to just forget about Myrtle Beach and stay at home for the weekend. So, I took my first Did Not Start (DNS). I was not injured or sick, I just needed a break. I felt a little bad seeing others run it. However, I think I made the right decision.
